CONNECTING COMMUNITIES TO NATURE

Marketing + Communications Strategy | Branding | Partnerships | Content Creation

Westchester Land Trust embarked on an expansive journey to increase its impact across a more diverse area and needed a way to better engage the communities it serves. I dug deep to understand what these audiences wanted, and crafted a strategic marketing + communications approach that came to life through a rebrand, community partnerships, and digital and print channels, including social media, newsletters, events, email marketing, fundraising appeals, and more.

Partnering for Pollinators

The bilingual Pollinator Pop-Up program was created to build connections to nature and teach people of all ages why pollinators are important to food systems. I designed the materials, wrote copy with the help of a pollinator expert, and established a partnership for resource translation. I often work the Pop-Up at festivals and community events, where I get to show people just how cool bees can be.

Rebranding to Expand

As the land trust expanded into new locations and areas of work, it was time to create a brand that reflected our new vibe. I led a brand overhaul, including a website redesign, fresh brand style guide, and updated messaging across all channels.

Social Connections

Everyone deserves access to nature. Through social media, the land trust connects with a wide range of people, showing them that nature exists all around us, from our biggest cities to our smallest rural towns. Follow along on Instagram.

Spreading Good News

Published a few times each year, the newsletter is one of the best ways to communicate the impact of the land trust to its supporters. Take a peek at the ones I wrote and produced here beginning in 2020.
